Biker's Rebellion by blitzgren
135 seconds (3 levels of 45 seconds each) of a Spy Hunter style vertical scroller where the only objective is to stay alive while avoiding angry drivers. Each level will bring more and more enraged vehicles; get them to drive into a gas station for bonus points!
W - accelerate
S - brake
A - turn left
D - turn right
Left Shift - Provides a short boost of higher acceleration maneuverability.
Avoid cars and stay on the road to get a higher score. Bonus points if you crash cars into gas stations! Avoid debris because it will hinder your acceleration and turning speeds.
Three levels with increasing difficulty in all, see the highest score you can get!
Windows and XNA required, sorry :( but the Windows zip file includes the installation files if you don't have them. The source code is a horrendous spaghetti mess due to bad preparation and frantic coding.
My first Ludum Dare :D

I found something strangely hilarious when a car started coming up behind me so I started pedalling as fast as I could...
Not that I'm marking you down on this, I just thought it might be helpful to you!
As for the game, it was a very neat idea, and an intelligent and funny use of the theme. It would have been nice to see the cars swerve around rather than just move left-to-right, but that could be added in the next version.
I also thought the graphics were nice - you'd obviously made a stylistic decision and it is very unique. I did find myself dying quite often, and it was hard to coax the cars into the gas stations, but it's an awesome idea and I'd love to see you take it further.
Good fun and a very fresh take on the theme. Nice work ;)
i agree! the difficulty is something i need a lot more time to work on. i plan on changing the size of the screen so there is a longer road, and updating the sizes and maneuvering of cars and the cyclist. i also found myself chuckling when i thought a car left the screen then comes creeping up on you :D
@alistair aitcheson
thanks for the comments! i did put the release bin folder in the source download, but i'll remember that for next time, and update this page.
Anyways, the game itself I didn't quite understand. I'm riding a bike along a highway with gas stations. I think once I got a truck to crash into a gas station and they were destroyed. Was that the goal?
Would have been nice if the game was playable on a gamepad. The main menu did work on a gamepad, so it had me confused for a bit.
