I also forgot to post some input instructions: Purely mouse based, left to activate and reuse the last activated tool, right mouse button to do a limited boost (although there is no indicator to let your know if it runs out). To move in a direction, move the cursor near the edges, to stop go near the middle/tool shelf. ^^
The overlit sort of bloom thing really seems to work.
And lovely hud graphics too =D
Can't wait for LD20 XD!
Under all the garnish it is a pretty simple shooter. Not much to complain actually. Maybe an indicator where you're looking at.
The HUD design was brilliant. It took a bit to get used to but works and looks really natural to the overall graphics of the game.
The audio fits really well together, the BGM gave it a nice ambient feeling.
The bubbles, or DNA, or atoms gave a bit of depth to an otherwise 2D game. They did obscure the Psienc which was probably intensional, the range of the vacuum made up for that.
Overall great job.
I thought the controls worked really well actually, although I would like to see the option of hot-keys for the different abilities. Basically just so I don't have to stop moving when I click on them.
I see you listed a variety of enemies on your asset list, it would be really cool to see those added at some point if you decide to work on this more. At the moment it is really easy to defeat the enemies (possibly why I found it so relaxing) so I think a little variety here would add a lot.
