Overall it was a decent game, and I think you should be proud of what you accomplished. Your game is lot more fun than mine! :) Low ratings on humor (wasn't funny), audio, the sound was really repetitive, and innovation (would have given you a 4 on this if the scanner was worthwhile!)
I also never used the scanner, after i found my first diamond i had a lot of money so i bought a handful of drills and just brute forced around.
But, thats not to say it wasnt interesting and fun. Audio was nice too, i didn't really notice the song until i was nodding my head while digging, its awesome.
Nice graphics, cool sounds and music, nice game, was fun and all. You even had some community stuff down, only thing missing is my lovely timelapse video.
Really good work.
The scanner would've given the corresponding implementation of discovery but didn't seem to show anything but green dots. Not even when there were obviously diamonds below.
Other than that, good fun.
I forgot the controls you list here when I was playing, and the only one that isn't explained in-game is that you have to manually activate the scanner - it sort of looks like it's already working but hasn't found anything. So for a long time I didn't realise i had to press Z. Oddly, I found all but two of the diamonds through blind digging. More fun once I figured out the scanner, though, and a good fit for the theme.
