Nitro Racer by stigrv
A simple racer where the goal is to stay close to your opponents in order to survive.
Please note that this game works best in Firefox.
Edit: I've added a fixed version that corrects a few things in the compo version. The compo version should still work fine in Firefox though.
- Removed render bug that caused Chrome to crash when out of health, which caused you to be unable to die
- Better detection of checkpoint pass, making it harder to miss lap completion
- Slightly better looking tiles and death screen

Very interesting mechanic. You should actually force the player to get first place, even with the others attached to you ;)
Overall very refreshing game idea and very thematic.
Didn't really buy the post-apocalyptic set up when it opened onto green fields, blue water, and healthy trees. ;)
All in all, a great effort and would love to see this developed further.
Totally great on community effort with your sheet about used technology. Liked it. Last thing missing is just a timelapse.
@Dark Acre Jack - I never got time to draw the destroyed tiles. On the other side, I never got around to implement the nitros in the title either :)
@joekinley - I'll hopefully make a timelapse for the next competition
I assumed I had to finish first, which made for an interesting get ahead but not too far ahead tension... got one of the AI cars stuck in terrain at one point leading to death :(...
