RPG elements, achievements and retro style graphics - I couldn't ask for more. And this in 48 hours? Nice!
what's annoying though is that it's getting very repetetive after a while. also, 'take this...'saying'?' :)
It would get a higher score, but a couple of minor things detracted.
1. Gun doesn't always shoot where you put mouse.
2. Levels get repetitive.
3. Double arrow key for dash is almost unusable. If you need to dash, you're usually better off not. (Implimenting another hotkey would solve this issue)
4. Music gets a little repetitive as well.
5. Enemy shots are often hard to distinguish from jewels once things start moving faster.
6. Mouse going outside of screen and pausing drives me insane. (I believe that's a flash limitation though)
By the way, if you ever want to work this up into a post LD version and you want someone to make the music for it, I would be all over that. Have a look at my music page if you like: http://sites.google.com/site/petersilk/
Still, most fun game I've played yet.
Good stuff.
Great work.
But this is probably one of the very best.
I enjoyed it a lot.. I manged to make it to 951M before moving on to my daily goals. I have to say I'm impressed by the lvl of polish you managed in such a short time.
The upgrade menu, the title screen, the graphics..
It all seems very pretty and well made.
Great work.
Still, the game deserves all it's merit. It was really fun, I played it for quite a while. The graphics were pretty good for a 48 hour game, and so were the sounds. There should be a way to remove the diamonds from the game after you have all the upgrades, since they're so distracting. The whole fast paced run-jump-shoot mechanic worked very well. Excellent job!
