A not very serious visual novel. (Apologies for the sketches, I didn't have time to tidy and colour them, but wanted to get them in the game. And there's no music, sorry.)
Edit: Fixed a couple of bugs that were hiding some content, though not much. Eep. (Literally a 2 minute fix just after I woke up, yawn!)
From the readme:
SPACE: advance text
ENTER: confirm/advance text
Hold CTRL: Skip previously read text
ARROW KEYS: pick option
ESCAPE: quit
F: toggle fullscreen (off by default)
(Or use the mouse for all things!)
Apologies if there are bugs. I only played the game through a couple of times to check that it can be won and lost. :)

Cute game :)
Quite a lot of clicking through text but at least you didn't have to completely restart.
The main story is hard to follow, but the feelings it conveys are really strong, so I think it works really well even if you don't fully get it.
I'm really happy to see you finish something new, and this is one of my favourites of yours.
I would have had the hero on the left side of the screen, there was something a little off-putting (to me) having him on the right.
Great work with the art assets and story!
I know you said you would have liked to fix them up, but I thought the sketchy, uncoloured style of the art furthered the contrast between life and day dreams, more so than just the pixelization.
You've hit a style of story-telling that utilizes a minimalistic colouring, forcing the reader to apply themselves to filling out the holes. It strengthens the interactive story-telling as I'm forced to attempt to place myself as the protagonist and not a named character in a defined universe.
A very emotional game. Thank you.
