This needed some explanatory level but not a lot of time for that :).
I like adding the direction you're facing as a gameplay factor to a platformer.
Starting at the beginning of a level after dying is kind of a bummer. I tried to destroy a spike block by jumping up into it after getting the spike on my helmet, but it ended up killing me, and it sucked to be thrown back to the beginning of the level. Wall climbing with the headspike is tricky.
Very clean graphics. Nice sounds. Music is a good addition, if a little repetitive.
Great work!
Would be nice to have spawn points in the middle of levels for people (like me) who don't want to skip levels but aren't super great.
Adding checkpoints would have made it much less frustrating. Very devious platforming here, good work!
Collision.. gnashing teeth.. collision.
Tune that a bit and speed up the respawn and it'll be a lot more accessible.
Solid game though.
Spikes could be a bit more forgiving
Good music and graphics.
I noticed that the screen sometimes jitters when standing on the ground which is irritating, a collision bug perhaps.
Level 5's mechanics are not obvious, but the level is really easy when you can just blast through all the moving spikes.
The collision with the moving blocks is quite unforgiving, and the hat spike should work when jumping up into them for consistency. Level 5 - the [x] should protect you from [x] without having to hold 'jump', really, as it's pretty tough to figure out what you need to do.
A few checkpoints in levels 4 and 5 would be awesome.
There is also a tiny bug where you can exit the screen, especially noticeable in lvl six:)
Anyways, to keep a long story short, this game is AWESOME
Graphics, music, it has everything and the lvls are good.
Well done
Aside from that I absolutely love the graphics (they totally have an old-school megaman feel to them), the sound effects are very consistent with the animations (breaking through some rocks sounds very satisfying), and I like the interesting take on the wall-jump. Overall I really like it, good job!
Would like a more forgiving colission detection, and it's not trivial to master.
But it's still good. Nice graphics.
Agree that the wall-climb mechanic took a bit of getting used to but was quite intuitive to use once grasped. Restore points would've been nice, but Q to skip is a good alternative for those times you die from a spike a inch from the exit :P!
But other than that, really awesome game!
Also, a small thing that haven't been mentioned yet (I think), but when I first played the first level and saw the moving red cubes I assumed that there are regular moving platforms, probably because they are shaped like a square...
