CaveBot by PJ Pretorius

[raw]
made by PJ Pretorius for LD20 (COMPO)
It misses mostly sound effects, and has only two levels. This game was attempt to for this LD, the first idea was a bit too big.

Everybody loves a decent platformer.

Good potential here, nice execution. Got to 'the end'. ;)

Congrats on clearing the LD48!

Good weekend effort! The physics was a little "floaty" for me. Difficulty level was pretty easy, but I got stuck in the second level at what I thought should have been the end, but there was no door. Maybe I missed a chip?

Oh, and one more thing - I think using x & z instead of x and space would feel more natural.

Had to restart a few times, not sure why but the last level end didn't seem to work for me the first 2 times even though I collected the keys (bug?). Did get it in the end though! Agree with ladron on the physics, but you can spend a lot of time tweaking that sorta thing ;-) Good work finishing up!

Physics needs tweaking, and it'd be nice if the baddies reacted to taking a hit. A little polish and you've got a solid little platformer!

Thanks for the comments. @Nello indeed there is a bug, I forgot to reset the key count when levels change. But you can kill yourself by pressing F2, then the key count will be reset again.

Although doing so is counter-productive... -_-

Nice work, could use some polish. The base graphics and level desing are interesting.

Nice work - well done on finishing!

I thought the characters and items looked quite good and the movement physics while not great are not *that* bad - I've felt a *LOT* worse these last 3 weeks :P!

When I stand on the blue line did I win? :) A short, easy platformer. My favorite part was the robot graphics!

@Tom 7 Yep you won... It should've showed you a message, but a little bug crept into my code >_<
