Last, Ludum Dare I used only the most basic of canvas operations and things went quite well. This time I decided to push things a bit by utilising things as if Canvas rendering worked in all respects.

Consequently, The game has issues on browsers. I'd much rather hit these sort of problems on a Ludum Dare than in a project that my income depended upon.

FireFox 6 on Windows works fine if you have enough memory free. I have had reports of FireFox 6 on Linux freezing X. My own Linux box needs to be rebooted if I try this page in Chrome.
Under Windows, Chrome and Opera ran but rendered incorrectly.

As for the game itself, I had a lot of fun making the time-to-beat runs. It has quite a difficulty curve. The last level I have not successfully completed.


You can use cursor keys or wasd. Space to restart if you crash.

Fun game, the graphics are pretty amazing.
It works great in the webkit based browser named surf. The game is kind of resource hungry though.

Decent game but this is why Canvas/JS isn't ready for primetime. Flash gives consistent performance over different browsers. When Canvas/JS can do these (which may be never considering the history of standards compliance)

Good implementation. Graphics are pretty cool. Needs some innovation though to differentiate from all the other "floaty ship maze" games.

The framerate seems very choppy in chrome.

I found that the different physics for the up/down (that depends on the thrusters) and the left/right (that does not) were a hindrance for me to enjoy this. As a huge fan of gravity games, that's a shame :(
