8 ways by Meedoc

Here is my entry for my first Ludum Dare. Initially I wanted to make a game similar to a virus, which couldn't be killed. But it was not in my skill's scope...

So I did this game. I don't know if it's really fun, but I tried to do something which I like myself.

Here is the pitch : the avatar is trapped in a succession of rooms, and there are 8 ways to escape. Are you going to find all of them?

EDIT : Downloadable version added for Windows 32 & 64 bit and several for Os/X (I didn't know which one I should build with Unity so I built all the existent possibility )

I found myself playing this for a very very long time... getting new (and sometimes bizarre) objectives as you go along is very compelling. It would have been nice to have a clear (not obscured by fog) panel with the current objective on it.
Overall, though, very fun :)

Maybe with wine? I'm sorry Unity doesn't support linux. The best I can do (and I'll do it) is adding a downloadable version soon =)

I did quite like the structure of the game. Gotta agree about better indication of current objectives/etc, but still fun and an interesting take on the theme. Graphics were functionally simple, but I think with some odd and unsettling lowpoly or some low-res panel 3d, wolfenstein style, this could have a still lo-fi but creepy air to it.

This was rather confusing do to the bizarre layouts of the rooms. At first I didn't actually realize it was 3D until I started moving around. The 8 ways to win part is innovative, though.

Maybe this is just an issue with the web player, but I had a difficult time playing this because of the way the mouse worked. Moving the mouse to look around would move my cursor outside the game window. If I then clicked (to activate a sphere in the crosshairs), the game lost focus, and I'd have to click back in the game window again. Having to constantly do this really spoiled the immersion factor for me. Other than that, it was a cool, atmospheric experience.
