It was sometimes hard to tell if I was getting closer or not. Also, considering there's only 1 sound in the game, it would have been nice to make it a little more polished and not as harsh. Aside from that though, pretty decent game. I didn't finish though, because by the time I got to level 12, I wasn't sure if there was a finish, or if it was randomly generated."},{"author_name":"jukimv1986","author_uid":"5402","time":"Aug 23, 2011 @ 2:04am","epoch":1314064740,"text":"Thanks for playing and commenting!\r<br\/>\r<br\/>I had some problems with implementing sounds and at the end I decided to stick with just one, that played depending on the distance you are from the portal to help you get to it.\r<br\/>\r<br\/>By the way, there is no end level, there is no escape."},{"author_name":"Spaceoff","author_uid":"5791","time":"Aug 23, 2011 @ 2:23am","epoch":1314065880,"text":"Interesting engine, nice concept and well executed, but doesn't hold attention for long. The sound can become quite irritating pretty soon too."},{"author_name":"AndyBrown","author_uid":"5699","time":"Aug 23, 2011 @ 5:42am","epoch":1314077820,"text":"Interesting mazes you generate, The view distortion effect was a bit hard to get used to, but I grew to like it after I got used to it."},{"author_name":"callidus","author_uid":"846","time":"Aug 23, 2011 @ 2:13pm","epoch":1314108480,"text":"OK nice tech but the game gets monotonous quite fast, also the sound is quite irritating after a while. Congrats on finishing!"},{"author_name":"TyrusPeace","author_uid":"5305","time":"Aug 25, 2011 @ 4:28am","epoch":1314246180,"text":"Nice work for twelve hours! I did think it was cool how close\/frustrated I felt when the beeping was fast and I couldn't find the exit sometimes. The warping of the player's version as he turned made things feel disturbingly non-euclidean and helped the general vibe.\r<br\/>\r<br\/>That said, it was a frustrating experience and the beeping really got to me. I'm very impressed with the implementation and it does a good job of conveying what you were going for, though."},{"author_name":"razer","author_uid":"6445","time":"Aug 27, 2011 @ 3:33am","epoch":1314415680,"text":"Why does the game (and source) look so similar to Mozilla's RayCaster Demo?"},{"author_name":"jukimv1986","author_uid":"5402","time":"Aug 27, 2011 @ 6:24pm","epoch":1314469140,"text":"Good spot razer, that's why I went for jam. \r<br\/>\r<br\/>The less than 12 hours went to adapt the demo to make it a playable game (though a frustrating one, I guess). The reason I did not put more effort into doing original work was being sick the whole weekend, and for the first time participating in LD I just wanted to get a glimpse at the experience.\r<br\/>\r<br\/>Anyway I think I achieved the type of gaming experience I wanted to convey. Games shouldn't always be nicely looking, easy or a pleasant experience. And I like to think the concept of using sound to guide you may take time to make sense, but when you get used to it you can play the game without even looking at the screen.\r<br\/>\r<br\/>Thanks to all for your constructive comments and playing!"},{"author_name":"geekygenius","author_uid":"6529","time":"Sep 1, 2011 @ 4:05pm","epoch":1314892800,"text":"I don't know if the warping was intentional, but it made it very hard to play.
