Escape Cat by FrikaC
Escape Cat is a really simple typing test game, with a Nyan Cat lookalike for good measure. This being my first Ludum Dare, I wanted to do something excessively simple and arcadey. The game has 3 modes: Standard, where you simply type out a really silly story. The full text of what you have to type is displayed along the bottom. Along the top is your text entry box and the word you should type next. The second mode is called "Nyan mode" where you just type nyan over an over again until you become sick of it (or make 4 mistakes). The third mode is the one that most resembles an actual game, it's called Fish mode. Type the words that appear on the fish to destroy them, partly inspired by Typing of the Dead.
If you have kids, it might be something they could play. Or you could use it to brush up on your typing skills. Or, I dunno, use it as a screensaver.

Feedback
Different modes in a game made in 48 hours is a pleasant surprise. It's just a typing game, but it does what it does very well.
