I found the controls pretty difficult, though. \r<br\/>\r<br\/>I'd suggest two alterations: \r<br\/>1) keep the player contained within the play area (i.e. you can't go offscreen - at least not top and bottom)\r<br\/>2) start off with levels with less other particles. Perhaps even some with preset particles fixed in place, that teach you how to repel \/ attract yourself across the stage.\r<br\/>\r<br\/>Promising start though!"},{"author_name":"marudziik","author_uid":"5431","time":"Sep 3, 2011 @ 6:29pm","epoch":1315074240,"text":"Man, I thought you'd buy me with "You are a charged particle with a clear disregard for the laws of physics", but honestly, there is very little gameplay here. The idea is fine, but the terrifying amount of other *moving* charged particles makes this quite painful. Thinking how this game could be improved, I'd say MUCH less particles, especially in early levels, and some fixed particles and\/or particles moving with no regards for physics (some simple trajectories) - player movement would be more deterministic. I like the concept, but the gameplay is to random now."},{"author_name":"AndyBrown","author_uid":"5699","time":"Sep 10, 2011 @ 6:50am","epoch":1315637100,"text":"Interesting concept, it was a lot funner once there were less particles on the screen so you could time their rotations around to bounce off them, could definitely see something really fun evolving from this concept."},{"author_name":"AJMilsom","author_uid":"4038","time":"Sep 12, 2011 @ 5:38pm","epoch":1315848780,"text":"i seem to have trouble with running XNA games recentally, which is odd because i used to use xna on this machine :("}],"images":["ld21\/5597-648ea33ae8344cc8a8fb64064d5c4446.jpg"],"links":[{"url":"https:\/\/www.dropbox.com\/s\/u21gjifk7nyea2a\/ThascLD48.zip","text":"Windows"},{"url":"https:\/\/www.dropbox.com\/s\/rizpdy9nm5cerbt\/ThascLD48Source.zip","text":"Source"}],"metadata":{"g_key":"32766","g_author":"5597","g_event":"LD21","g_eventkey":"7","g_subevent":"-","g_urlkey":"32796","g_title":"Charge","g_status":"UCHK1","g_place":"284","g_commentcount":"10","g_site2_node_id":"0","g_hide":"N","g_has_icon":"Y","g_rqueue":"0","g_random":"0"},"nds":[],"node":null,"orig_images":["http:\/\/ludumdare.com\/compo\/wp-content\/compo2\/\/62148\/5597-shot0.png-eq-900-500.jpg"],"text":"XNA 4.0 was used to make this, so it's likely that you'll need Windows with XNA Framework 4.0 installed in order to play it!\r\n\r\nYou are a charged particle with a clear disregard for the laws of physics.\r\nHit SPACE to invert your polarity, causing different particles to attract\/repel you.\r\nNavigate using WSAD, but use sparingly - it drains your charge.\r\nRegain your charge by touching oppositely-charged particles.\r\nEscape the electromagnetic foam!\r\n\r\nwww.audiotool.com was used to make the music!<\/p>","title":"Charge"}
