Robot Tunnel by Jerm
The game is complete and has six levels (each with 6 waves of robots). The only controls are Up and Down to move the player. For every 30 robots with a blue outline you shoot, your weapon gets upgraded.
There is only a Windows version which I have tested in Win7 64-bit, but it should also work in Windows XP and above. There is no audio.
I kept progress updates on my twitter: @DigiJerm. The game doesn't really follow the theme, but too bad. :)

Update (2011-9-3): I have made a post-compo version that makes the fireballs from the red-stripe robot easier to see. It also fixes some rendering glitches. This version requires OpenGL 2.0 or higher.

I'm not sure why you're not losing life when you get hit, but it only counts as hitting if the fireball hits right in the center of the player sprite (which for the smaller fireballs can look like the collision detection is not working :)).
