Pressure by frr171

I was unable to make a complete entry this time around. Being still in high-school, my parents reserve the right to change my schedule at any time. So what I have finished is merely a concept with only 4 levels. Not much, but it's playable.

Use the arrow keys and the space bar to guide your character to the exit. Run from the advancing wall of doom.

After the competition, I added a few more levels and revamped the graphics and menus. you can play the post compo version here: http://dl.dropbox.com/u/2727127/Pressure/World1.swf

I wish it was longer.

Same, had fun, more levels would be nice.

This could have been truly entertaining, if only it had been longer.

Jumping feels very floaty and awkward, especially since you can't half jump. Needs more levels.

The level design is smart (the last room has a nice timing =)) and the idea could make a good classic game but it's too short...
Nice job anyway. When I was your age, I was not able to do that in such a short time .

OH GOD THE PRESSURE! (coming from the sliding wall of doom :-) )

Nice idea. I like the scaling levels, and the "just enough" time to make it.

The spikes are a bit sensitive; I tried being a ninja, and I hit the hitbox of the spikes, but not the graphic of the spikes. It might work better if the hitbox of the spikes was shorter, or if you only died if you were moving downwards.

As others have said, the timing in this game is really well done. That's sometimes hard to get right, but you did a good job with it. Tell your parents that they're keeping you from valuable educational activities! (I'm not being sarcastic, I can't think of a much more educational experience than trying to jam out a working game in 48 hours)

Very short, but a OK proof of concept. There was not as MUCH pressure as I thought because the levels are very short. I do think this idea can be expanded.

It's a good prototype. The mechanics and increasing difficulty is working. With better graphics, sound and more levels this could make a fine game.

Simple idea - maybe not very innovative but very good timing (especially in 4th level) makes it really good. This could be a very good game if polished. I'd like to see more levels.

For those of you who - like me - didn't notice, there ARE some more levels to play in the post-compo version. See:

Simple but effective. Jumping a little floaty, but I've seen much worse. Timing balanced just right!
