Spiders v. Aliens by tangentstorm

[raw]
made by tangentstorm for LD21 (JAM)
I kind of ran out of time, so the story isn't clear.

Basically, these aliens kidnapped you and were about to kill you, but (for perfectly logical reasons) you had a bunch of alien gut spiders. They don't hurt you, but they kill the aliens on contact.

Use arrow keys to move. Press and hold WASD (or their dvorak equivalents) to grab and drag stuff around.

Grab a portal to activate it. You can teleport objects with you by grabbing the portal with one hand while holding an object with another hand.

Some portals need a key to turn on the power.

Grab the cannons to shoot a lightning bolt.

There's also a ghost that can grab things, and it copies whatever you do. Find it and set it free: you'll need it to escape!

Made with flixel 2.5.... Seems to require the latest version of flash. (I couldn't get the swf to run in chrome, but it works in my firefox...)

I liked it! (quite a lot). I'd like to see more levels and mechanics introduced. After I got ghost me though I just ended up dragging the baddies in front of the turrets and killing them, which seemed cheap and wrong, but the spiders were a bit too hard/time consuming to deal with. I really dug the grab mechanic though. Was a little too easy to get things stuck in walls.

Once i got the hang of it, it was pretty fun :-) The pushable blocks should move on a tile-based way tho, that would eliminate the problem with collisions

Aside from the movement and collisions, this was a great game!
