Tea Powered Escape was originally supposed to be reverse dungeon crawl instead it's a straight forward escape from the water, though with added tea! (There was a lot consumed during the weekend).

This was my first entry for LD and wow did I underestimate it, I'm fairly happy with what i've done but really there is so much more that is needed, still I've learnt a lot from the process.

Left/right arrow keys move but up doesn't jump? In general for Flash games, the arrows would be the primary controls with WASD as the backup, rather than the other way round.

Would be good to have the ability to restart from within the game if you die.

Your jump seems to go to wildly varying heights even if you just keep the jump button held down the whole time. Sometimes clicking on a block wouldn't remove it. Both these issues might be frame-handling code going wrong maybe?

Very cute game, kind of easy once you figure it out and get a few cups of tea, though. Very short, too. Perhaps a little variety like enemies or something would help. Great submission though!

Now, for a cup of tea...

I enjoyed the game very much, it was hectic and fun at the same time. :)
Now I'll make myself a nice cup of tea. ^^

I have nothing to add that other people haven't said yet.

Both of the following are issues that I also came across while playing the game.

Thanks for the comments so far.
I agree with what has been said, I mostly ran out of time, so things like restart and more enemies would have been added, ultimately there was lots more I wanted to do.

In regard to the jumping yes there is a "feature", it's to do with how I'm handling the physics, I knew the problem existed but I went with "good enough" while I was looking at other problems.

Quite fun. Think the main issue with jumping, had to do with being underwater, and having the jump calculated once you were in air? I dunno, still beatable, and the jumping bug kinda added to the intensity :D. Could've used a water sound effect, but at least yours ended with sound D:

Water is rising too high and the most effective strategy is just to ride the water and dig over your head, sometimes digging to other cave and collecting tea. Idea is not bad, but it would require some polishing and probably some other small features to be enjoyable.

Kind of buggy and confusing. I still gotta respect someone who finished, though.

Not a bad idea, but mechanics need some work. It's easy to make a staircase in blocks, but you just drop down if you jump in water, then relatively easily ascend from the bottom.

Nice little game, not much to do and a bit random but nice for a first LD game.
