Lost in the Depths is a multiplayer roguelike where you play as an adventurer who must escape the dungeon after things go awry.

Note that while this game supports multiple players on the server, it is still winnable with only one player.

Controls:
1-9 - Activate ability on target near cursor
Numeric Keypad - Move one space
Mouse click - Move
H - Help screen
C - Carve on floor
I - View inventory
P - Pick up item(s) on ground
Enter - Chat local
G - Chat global

The web link goes to an applet which should automatically connect to the server. However, it may fail for some reason. If this happens, you will get a black screen after pressing "Connect". If that happens:
- Check that TCP port 17998 is open outbound if you have a firewall
- Close your browser, wait one minute, and then open the link again. This may be able to correct an issue with the Java plugin

The graphics were not very good. However, the gameplay was interesting. It looked like it was a fairly well-executed variety of multiplayer roguelike. I'd have like to played when lots of people were online. Also, the movement way pretty slow and it was hard to locate and target enemies, which made the experience feel a bit like random blundering.

Good attempt to put online rgl together in 48 hours (and it might be bit more enjoyable if there was somebody but me online), but slow movement, pretty much purely random fighting and boredom of walking in mostly completely empty halls... but it really plays like a basic prototype without much fun.

This looks interesting, but I just get a black screen with a NPE in the Java console:

Exception in thread "AWT-EventQueue-2" java.lang.NullPointerException

woah that's an ambitious project for 48h ! You seems to have achieve a lot but the real time fights are difficult to handle.
