Block escape by Piglet

[raw]
made by Piglet for LD21 (-)
The craft is in the middle of a 1000x1000 matrix of blocks. The objective is to escape the matrix. Move with the arrowkeys, space shoots. The white blocks are indestructible.

Escape quits to menu, in the menu escape quits the game. Pressing escape in the game will DESTROY your current progress.

The movement is "newtonian", like in asteroids.

It's too hard, but I love that =)
The avatar's movement is cool, I like this king of inertia! Nice job! I hope I'll finish it later...

Too hard for me, if there was anything else for me to do but to battle inertia, I'd try it more, but...

I couldn't start the game in Windows. I could see the press start text and then the game always quit without any error message in neither stdout.txt or stderr.txt. I had to compile the game in Linux and there it worked without problems.

Gameplay wise, it is very, very hard. That's is what it makes this game interesting, actually :-)

The movement killed me. Everytime. Every five seconds. That was a great way to measure time to be honest ^^

All in all, it was a fun little game, I once got to about 267 blocks then died, that frutrated me a bit. Else I liked it.

I could escape for 100 block. Maybe recal instead of dying would make it a very enjoayble game. The blue/green/white ratio was good.
