Idol Run! by Vidd

[raw]
made by Vidd for LD21 (JAM)
This is my first time using Flixel, having decided originally to work in CS5. A hasty rewrite on Saturday followed by another two days of development resulted in this, my second Flash game!

The jam's extra time was very much appreciated and meant my brother could create music for it. Fun!

A simple concept, but very polished and challenging, and really nice music.

I got to a point where I saw white light. I think I managed 99 metres, so I suppose I came 1 metre short from epic win.

Simple, well put and challenging. Very good overall.

The collision detection on the spikes seemed a little wonky, but a good game all around. Challenging, but far from impossible. Decent sound and graphics. Nice work.

Very good sound, but the graphics could be a bit better for a jam entry. The mechanics were very well thought, simple and effective, but I think his jumps could be a bit higher/farther.

Nice graphics and excellent music! The controls were a bit dodgy and lacked the mario feel. =)

Surprisingly fun. I liked the music, graphics were fine too. The only gripe I might have is that it was really hard to avoid spikes when there were two (or more) with a tile of space between them (so I needed to push left arrow just after the first jump to compensate for the ground moving left, to land just between the spikes). Feels a little unbalanced, but fun to play.
