DEATH BOULDER JONES

You are thousands of years old, and most of that time has passed quite boringly. Usually you spend your time making beautiful rainbows appear, because it's about all a benevolent temple spirit has to do these days.

In the past few hundred years or so, you've noticed people with leather hats and bull whips have started coming into your temple looking for treasure, only to be slaughtered by the many traps.

Well that just won't do. You've finally started to feel excitement in watching them try to achieve their dreams, only to have it dashed away when they explode in a fiery death.

A new adventurer has come in, and his name is "Jones." He appears to be very stupid, as he simply runs forward unless a wall appears in his way... or a rainbow. It's up to your rainbow-making powers to lead Jones safely out of the temple and onto an early retirement!

- Draw walls with the mouse!
- Lead a hapless adventurer to fortune and a death from old age!
- Deflect arrows, block off lava pools, intercept crushing walls of death!
- Watch somebody else collect treasure, treasure, treasure!
- Help Jones run very, very, fast from a giant fiery death boulder!
- Use your spirit powers to view the world in slow-motion so you can better defend Jones!

The idea is pretty good, but the game is too hard from the beginning. It should be easier in the beginning i frustrated quickly. Great anyways!

Very difficult! Feels a bit like trial and error.

Fantastic game! I need checkpoints though... XD
I COULD NOT BEAT IT!!! lol very nice! Very funny, good sfx and music, hilarious concept, and great gfx for 14 hours work.

Yeah, it definitely needs checkpoints or lives or something to make it a bit easier. I also found the walls obstructing my view at times, which was annoying. But the concept is great!

Good idea and presentation, but either tone down the difficulty or use checkpoints, otherwise it gets too frustrating very quickly.

Very cool idea, and I was impressed by the opening, but Jones' movements are kind of crazy. He'll turn in crazy directions or just stop at a wall. Would have been nice if he always moved up, but would turn away from walls, then continue going up after he walked away from the walls.

Definitely a solid looking concept though, good work.

Really hard, but shows a ton of potential that I hope is developed. My favorite part: audio goes slower when you slow down time. Awesome touch!

Thank you for the comments so far, everyone. I am currently doing a post-compo pass that includes a "real" difficulty curve, multiple levels, and one more power (drawing bridges over lava and gaps). I'll likely have a first pass ready to go by the end of the week.

This is a cool idea, with an unique touch on how to control the hero. but way too hard.

As others have pointed out, it should be easier in the beginning. You see a lavapit and die 0.1 seconds later :).
