Starlighter by kutuup1989
Rjynwor is the "Runner", the last Starlighter. He must travel alone into the void, sacrificing his own life to relight the stars.
My first Ludum Dare attempt!
The kitty is there... Somewhere fiendishly hidden!
Sorry the source code is a mess, must take more care to code more neatly under pressure next time!

UPDATE:
I have created a version with audio which can be found at:
http://www.mediafire.com/?y5m3cd00yd4zuka
This version is NOT to be judged for the competition as it was built after the competition ended. I have added a note to the start of the game reminding users of this. This version is solely for demonstration of how the game would have been had I added audio during the competition and is NOT a new submission or entry.
This build also fixes a bug in the entry version where some users encountered instant game overs. Users with this issue can play this build if they wish to see the game, but please rate only the competition build, even if the game didn't work for you.
Please only judge the build which was entered for the contest as it represents the work done during the contest.

Update 2:
************************************************************
I have tried the game on every computer I can get my hands on from a netbook to a full on gaming rig built for Crysis type games and none have presented the instant game over bug :S Can anyone experiencing the bug comment with what rig they are using because I simply can't replicate the error, even when running the game on the checkout computers at work! Since a number of people stated that they saw a "run..." button (which is actually just a text box that displays for a few seconds, not a button) I even tried mashing the mouse all over the text box in case clicking was the problem and still no error on any of the machines! Please, if you experience this problem post up what rig you are using so I can investigate further!

Update 3
************************************************************
As stated in the readme file, if you get an "MSVCR100.dll missing" error when you try to run the program, please install the redist package included in the game folder.

This is a good idea, now it should be improved (I can't even die ^^)
I'm afraid I got the instant game-over bug too, there is also no way to close the program (Tried Alt F4 which works for me with other allegro-made titles), when I did manage to close it I got a "Program Stopped Working" error.
