Lava Jumper by Skriglitz
*NOTE: Please use the patched version as level 10 had a problem and rendered the game unplayable. The only modification was replacing the previous level 10 with a new copy moving the spawn point pixel down 1 space.
This is my first completed game. The basic principal is to make it to the blue square aka portal. Some levels are hard and some are easy. Due to a messed up collision engine there is a hidden "Feature" that makes some hard levels easy. If you get stuck (99% certain at least once) somewhere simply press "R" to restart the level. Sadly there is no sound due to a major crash issue with a sound engine.

Timelapse of first 48hrs (minus time chronolapse had black screenshots) can be found here: http://youtu.be/z_HAlENkod0
Note: As mentioned at the end there is a way to add your own levels to the game. The format is as follows
1. 32x25 pixel PNG with border of choice of stone, dirt, or grass or all 3.
2. Airspace must be black.
3. Player can not pass through 1 pixel holes/gaps due to bug
4. The lattermost Spawn Point and portal is considered the only one.
5. Images must be inserted into the jar under resources\level with filenames in sequential order.
The color pallet RGB's are as follows:
Air: RGB(0,0,0)
Stone: RGB(127,127,127)
Dirt: RGB(127,63,0)
Grass: RGB(0,255,0)
Lava: RGB(255,0,0)
Spawn Point: RGB(255,255,0)
Portal: RGB(0,0,255)

Heres the new level 10 that should work fine: http://dl.dropbox.com/u/23990914/Ludum%20Dare/10.png
And Here is an updated jar with the proper level 10 already updated: http://dl.dropbox.com/u/23990914/Ludum%20Dare/LD22-Skriglitz-Lava-Jumper-Update.jar
But my FPS/speed was fine.
Maybe you should relate the speed of the character to the deltaTime from one frame to the other, so it'll work on every machine at the same speed.
Other than that, the game was pretty good :)

Yeah, this ran way too fast. The first few with-lava levels were possible as you could stick to the sides of the wall.
I am afraid I am not going to be able to rate this game properly. Sorry :'(
