Alonzo by benxtan

[raw]
made by benxtan for LD22 (JAM)
You are Alonzo. The game starts with you waking up in a strange place, with rows of buildings on either side of you that all look the same. Seemingly repeated over and over again. You keep walking until you get to a bridge Don't fall off ;)

Up ahead is a foreboding structure made up of the same buildings. Whats on the other side? Did I mention that you are also a minotaur? Get to the end of the maze for the reveal as to where Alonzo has woken up.

Don't forget to put sound on. Original background music composed on Sunday to set the mood.

I have many more ideas for the rest of the game :)
One is adding footprints so that you know where you've been in the maze.
Alternatively a minimap that reveals as you explore, to make navigating the maze easier. The maze isn't that big...but it would frustrate a casual gamer. Could have different difficullty levels.

Make A Game

Such a weird entry. I can't really call it a game, as it's more of a self-contained narrative where you can't really make any meaningful decisions other than moving forward.

The mood is excellent, but doesn't really feel like a game. And I wish I knew about the shift key earlier :-)

Strange little narrative of a game...could possibly have an interesting story, but a bit short as it stands. Wish I knew about the left shift as well! Music is nice!

Great music, really oppressive. Environment overly simplistic though, and exploring the maze was a bit clunky with the camera clipping through walls. Surreal setting reminded me of overlooked classic "Realms of the Haunting". Think you can get it on www.gog.com - you'd like it :)
