My First LD, had a lot of fun and I'm really proud of the game I have made! I hope you like it too!

The tools used were:

Engine: Unity 3.4
Code: C# in Visual C# Express
3D graphics: Blender 2.6
2D graphics: Paint.NET / InkScape
Sound: AudaCity / WolframTones / Bfxr

Don't forget there is another game mode to play when you pass the first one! Be sure to check it out. And also remember to post in the comments what your high score is!

I also used the terrain toolkit library from Unity Technologies

Nice work; This game is friggin' brutal, so it really adds to the atmosphere.
Personally I would have gone with a larger terrain and made the oxygen deplete a lot more slowly, but then again I would have probably gone nuts and made it randomly generate the levels and added vehicles etc. and would have most likely missed the deadline :D (If you want to learn how to manipulate the terrain in code, check out the Landscaper class in my game's source http://www.ludumdare.com/compo/ludum-dare-22/?action=preview&uid=7849 - It's largely undocumented, but it will show you how to both manipulate it and how to spawn objects onto it where you want)
I really love the idea of this game and am tempted to try and make something of this type myself.
Also, Unity is bad-ass; I love the fact that you can make a game like this in only 2 days.

Quimby: I agree the game is too hard but can I ask did you manage to finish it?

Yeah, bit too hard... gameplay consisted of me runing wildly from ship to one direction to see if I noticed something which might or might not be a part and then running back if i hit 50... I was never able to grab all of them and I quit after few attempts. Nice atmosphere, but I'd rather see more of a game - some oxy pickups would definitely help to make it more playable.

Quite a cool game. The first level had interesting gameplay and it could be interesting to see something similar (with some improvements) in the future. I thought the movement in the second level seemed a bit sluggish and I also had no idea whether there was an ending other than inevitable death.

I haven't yet finished it, no.
I didn't even know there was a second level... o.o

i scored 21.

i didn't think it was too hard. a few seconds of grace time (while holding your breath) after the time expires would have been nice though. the window was a bit small, which combined with the high mouse sensitivity, made it easy to get disoriented. other than that though i liked this. i was compelled to finish it even after dying twice with a full inventory just a step away from the ship.

Nice game.
I liked the music on the first part of the game but think it didn't feet the mood/ambience of it.

I finally got all the part and got back to the ship, just to die immediately on the second level... I was getting disoriented in the first level all the time, and couldn't find the batteries again and I always died just a oxygen level away from the ship. The atmosphere in this part was good; can't really say much about the second level.

Unity-game with moody ambient-music, featuring adventure-style-click-controls, and an oxygen-feature about being stuck in space?

It seems we both made the same game :-) (well, it's funny how many similarities there are)

Solid gameplay and idea. Oxygen-mechanic is harsh and prohibits exploration, however. The Black frame also makes you feel shut in.

First impression "Exploring terrain, the 3D equivalent of a 2D platformer". So I was happy to see the second level.

Lots of effort, fits the theme really well, good mood.

And don't listen to them, the difficulty is fine. One of the only 3D games so far I could play comfortably with a touchpad.

One of my favourites of this LD. good work. Really liked the first music track but would have preferred something a little more intense. Losing during the second level has a really nice ending, though if you're patient it lets you move through the planet. I was half expecting to find a floating cat out in space
