Interplanetary Sumo by Milo

[raw]
made by Milo for LD23 (COMPO)
You are an astronaut engaged in a struggle for survival, as planets bombard you from all sides, pushing you away from the safety of your peg. The only hope for survival is to avoid being crushed, while still staying within one parsec of that very important peg.

(Also, I can't get the applet to work in browsers. If anyone has advice (I have tried to sign it), I'd be glad to hear it)

great game! the graphic are tight the worlds crack the gravity works and its fun... some things to improve on would be to say what that bar thing in the corner means(can't figure it out) and the red rope thing is a little vague(i thought it was a bungee cord at first...Overall very fluent though...

2145 - It was fun and when it started to get repetitive, I got squished.

I had a lot of fun with this game! Seriously wouldn't mind buying it for a tablet device or something like that.

Simple mechanic, but actually quite fun! Great job :)

A good idea, executed well and strangely addicting! There should have been some kind of "reload" time between jumps, so if you jumped to another planet and held down space for too long you wouldn't immediately jump back.

I enjoyed your game quite a bit. The cracking planets looked cool and the jumping mechanic was fun.

Overall, it was a great diversion for a few plays but then it started to feel like the same thing every time. Perhaps more strategy (jumping off of or into a planet might push it), powerups, or new types of planets would extend playtime.

Still, great job for 48 hours!

Nice little game and good effort to include some audio in there as well. Liked the concept and whilst I seemed to repeatedly get crushed by Jupiter a solid LD game.

Nice game. I had some fun with it. Got repetitive though, maybe some powerups in later levels to keep from getting squishied?

Music got to be ear bleeding after a while. But still nice job.

Wow, this is an awesome mechanic. I haven't seen anything like it. I felt like at many points I wasn't getting any planets going back toward the center, though. Still, it was exciting and brief.

Awesome! I had a very similar idea for my game (jumping from mini-planet to mini-planet), but with a car instead of a astronaut. Being crushed is a cool mechanic too. Very nicely done :D
