Rogue Worlds by MTO

Well I didn't get the network finished in time, but single player works fine and is pretty fun!

The original idea was to have two separate games running side by side. The players would interact with each other by picking up items that drop from defeated enemies. For example, the tome item would spawn a more powerful enemy in your opponent's world.

My top score so far is around 5K.

Hrmm, probably an issue with applet security since its an unverified signature and the game connects to my server (your security settings may say no way!). Hopefully the downloadable versions work.

***I'm posting this on all non-browser games I bring up in an attempt to encourage folks to make browser games next time around. Do not take it personally.***

When hundreds of people make non-browser games, that means that, to play all of the entries, I would need to download hundreds of games to my computer. I typically use OS X, so Windows-only entries are particularly inconvenient.

Please consider making a browser game next time.

Oh the networking idea would be very interesting, I hope you 'll add it as a separate link sometime <:D
Got around 3700 points. Would be helpful to brag around if you could see your score on the game over screen.
Nice old school graphics.

I really enjoyed that -- very compelling just in single player. There's a very mechanical satisfaction in killing an enemy and moving through it. Love the idea of the 2-player thing as well.

Lots of fun, I loved how frantic it got later on. Awesome work.

This has potential, but at its current state it's not very fun.

You get the same enemies over and over and none of them pose much of a threat. After level 17 I just gave up and let them all kill me.

It is a tiny world though!

Great concept! I would love to try this out with the multiplayer design you've envisioned. As is singleplayer is too easy I guess.
