A Super Mario Summary by johanp
Revisit the entire original Super Mario Bros game served in bite sized tiny little pieces! Try to get to the top of every flag pole and get every single coin in the game. Can you do it?
Good luck and have fun!

Overall, great job! Love it.
Fun: 3/5 - It lacks the punch of the original Mario Brothers because it doesn't tell me the score at the end of the level. It feels less incentivized to get the max score that way. Also, adding a time component (getting a better score the faster it's done) might add to the fun.
Theme: 4/5 - Very clever take on the theme.
Graphics: 5/5 - I looked for something to complain about, I really did.
Audio: N/A - On a machine without audio, so will not rate.
Humor: N/A - Didn't see any attempts at humor, therefore not rating.
Mood: 4/5 - It benefits from having an established mood from Mario, but it works.
Not innovative obvioulsy, but great in most other ways.
I just miss some mario-like music!
My only gripe is that I found the coin collect sound too loud and irritating.
5 star!
unfortunately it's missing music. dude, you could have beatboxed :D
also, pixelizer looks neat. may be considered for the next LDs! (and maybe other projects too)
Next time, add some music! :D
I got stuck in the bottom left of the flag block once, just to warn you. I think it was level 4-2ish...the one where you can knock a shell down through a whole bunch of goombas. It has a spring right before the flag with a coin above the spring.
Amazing how much content you made in 2 days!

Its a very long game for 48h ! Too bad you didnt have time to recreate a simplistic version of the mario theme.
5-4 was *haaard*. =)
The first couple of levels really captured the essence of the game. Stupendous work in the 48-hour window! I read through your post-mortem, too; congrats on the press!
Very impressed with the result (finitions and number of levels)
I like your pixel art! :)
Good job.
Oh yeah, the game itself! This was a really neat idea and a funny take on the theme. I'm not sure what to add that others haven't at this point, but mostly wanted to congratulate you on Pixelizer.
The first few stages are very familiar but then you bring it on. Gave up on 8-2. Well done!
It's surprising how amazingly different it plays and feels from Mario. Anyone who says this is a rehash clearly hasn't played the game. It very much does its own thing, and that thing is awesome.
Great job especially with the graphics. They give you a feeling of SMB, but they shine with a certain personality and uniqueness that is all their own.
The concept itself is the great star of the show, of course, it was a brilliant idea, and a great take on the theme. Very playful too.
I haven't been able to complete yet, but I definitely will give the post-compo all the time it needs soon after LD is over. Congrats!
This was just a really amazing game, I think this and Fracuum were my favorites of the compo. This just works at so many levels, I love how there were effectively a lot of different layers to the levels because of all the optional challenges.
The Mario-but-not-Mario graphics were great, they reminded me of Mario Teaches Typing in a good way. I liked Bowser's mullet.
I did get some mechanics glitches (I played the 48 hour version), for example I had troubles where I would hit the sides of paratroopers while trying to jump on top of them.
What's particularly amazing to me is that such a "large", depth-filled game was made in an LD timeframe. Despite the 48 hour scope I enjoyed this more and got more out of it than some of the stuff I've paid money to the actual Nintendo for in the actual Mario Bros line lately :D
