For example: Don't do something like "ArrayList house = new ArrayList();" but "List house = new ArrayList<Actor>(); instead.\r<br\/>\r<br\/>Also I can't run your programm, I get a NPE on the spawnChests (World.java on Line 339). \r<br\/>\r<br\/>Also I think the path of the resources are wrong for a jar (new Scanner(new File("resources\/levels\/" + file)); --> you won't find that in the jar, you need to get the class loader and load as resource) Don't catch exceptions and return null, it prevents you from debugging your code, as you won't find the real place to debug ("Fail early, fail often")"},{"author_name":"Canard Sauvage","author_uid":"9578","time":"Apr 24, 2012 @ 10:07pm","epoch":1335304920,"text":"So, I changed some things to get it running as jar and tried it out :) Good work so far, I get the idea. I will release a Jar file \r\nwhen I can.\r\n\r\n------------------------------------------------------------------\r\n\r\nYou awake to find yourself alone in a strange world filled with\r\nshoadowy creatures. You have no idea how you got there, but you do know\r\nthat if you don't find something to eat soon you will die.\r\nWelcome to your tiny new world.\r\n\r\n------------------------------------------------------------------\r\n\r\nThe objective is to simply not die. While you could stay inside the\r\nhouse to avoid the monsters, you will howerver eventually starve to death\r\nif you don't find food.\r\n\r\nAt the start of each new day you will be warped back to your house, then\r\na random amount of monsters and chests will be created and randomly placed\r\nthroughout the world. The chests will ether hold potions to heal yourself,\r\nfood that you can eat to prevent yourself from starving to death, or bonus\r\npoints.\r\n\r\nControls:\r\nArrow keys: move the character\r\nspacebar: use potion to heal yourself\r\nE key: eat food\r\n\r\nThanks you for playing, sorry it isn't much. There was allot more I\r\nwanted to add but sadly I ran out of time before that. If you have any\r\ntips, suggestions, feedback, or bug-reports you can submit them on the\r\nludum dare page or my twitter (@SgtQuad) thanks!\r\n\r\nTimelaps coming soon!\r\nsubscribe to my youtube (http:\/\/www.youtube.com\/user\/SgtQuad)<\/p>","title":"Tiny World"}
