No Space by Jeremias

IMPORTANT: Disconnect your gamepad before starting the game, please :)

In NO SPACE you play an astronaut who is kept enclosed by his own space ship. It travels to small planets and forces you to gather resources like helium and water. Both, the ship and you, need these resources to survive.

Dig your way through the planets and build conveyors to transport found resources to the ship. Luckily, the space ship creates a gravitation field so you can walk on the planet's surface.

Back in the ship, in your tiny room and prison, you upgrade your tools to better your mining skills - and maybe you will find a way to escape.

If you got trouble with the game's difficulty, post here which resource was to rare (maybe I want to go on with this game).

Neat! I like the conveyor system, it works pretty well. I keep stranding myself or dying on the planet though...guess I'm not cautious enough. xD

Nice game. Needed a little bit more jetpack energy at the start

Good game, I ran out of helium and now I have to wait centuries to do anything. That should probably be a little less rare considering you need so many conveyors to gather resources. Nice graphics though and really neat concept.

Claustrophobic atmosphere and computer like in movies "Moon" or "Space odyssey" gives nice mood. Game itself very interesting

Really nice! Pretty hard but the mining and crafting are done very well and it's fun when one gets hang of it.

Thank you all for rating and commenting! Yes, the difficulty is high and on your first travel, you will die very soon. But if you know that you must manage your energy very wise, you'll get into the expected "flow" (I hope :)).

I think a tutorial that guided you through exploring, managing energy and the rest would make this game a lot more accessible. (I do understand how hard it is to find time for that as well as everything else though)

This game kept my interest for quite a while. The mechanics of mining and crafting are interesting, and there's a good level of challenge. The mood of the game is also impressive.

Really nice job. Love the concept and the ship interactions. Took me a while to figure out my mouse wasn't working, because I had my xbox controller plugged in :P Works great with the controller though.

Great game! There's a good deal of balance. The in-ship music is very nice, and the in-game control cheat-sheet was all I really needed to get started with the game. I love the conveyor system as well; perhaps if you added indestructible tiles, you could force the user to be more careful with how they use conveyors.

If you had more time, I'd suggest adding a handful of tilesets for the planets to emphasize the progress the user is making.

Really nice, loved the balance of it, I like how well it punishes being that little bit too greedy.

Very nice game! Quite thematic, and when you screw up trying to push things too far, you're pretty much doomed.

Thank you for the feedback!

@kasarun: Perhaps just a last minute bug. If I have the time, I'll fix it and post a post-compo version.

Congrats on making this game in 48 hours, I think it's quite an accomplishment! I like the presentation with the computer talking to the player, the game mechanic is quite unique too! I found it hard to play at first because I didn't realise using the jetpack while carrying minerals had a huge penalty! This game is hard because I either ran out of time or energy and the game has permadeath! An improvement you could make is making the planets more round, currently they're square. Great job!

Good mood and great fit to theme. What do the little arrows do? Looks like it sends resources back up to the ship but I cannot get it to work.

Doesn't look astonishing, but the gameplay is quite deep and fun. Theme-wise it's a little stretch, but it's so entertaining, I didn't really care. I really like the general idea, the Kubrick's film reference, and the overall feel to it. Really impressive for 48hours of work. Good job!
