Dunscape by Kane
Langage: C
Library needed: SDL only
After ~17h of work, Dunscape is finally born!
It's a turn-based exploration game in a roguelike style.
I hope you like it!
note: for people who don't have a numpad I have added the support of QWERTY keyboard (and fixed the bug when you pass through a rat with the 9 key).
the controls with the QWERTY keyboard are:
Q W E
\|/
A-S-D
/|\
Z X C
-------------------------------
All my timeline is write in the README file in the sources.

The combat is pretty useless though, everything kills you pretty easily, it's better to just run and save some of the "easy" coins you find to refill your health.
I am sorry if you don't like it :(
I will do better next time, I promise !
But even if it worked with the numbers on the top of the keyboard, this game would have been unplayble on a laptop, because without the numpad, the controls wouldn't make any sense and it would have been incredibly hard to play (not hard in a good way). Controls are very important in a game, and they should be thought for every kind of keyboard (which is hard, I know).
Anyway, I want to play this game, so I'll try later on my office computer :)
The fixed version link is now in the description of the entry.
I hope you will enjoy the game :)
However some of the random arrangements make it impossible to stay alive.
First I think it's pretty impressive that you got this all done in 17 hours of work and with C!
The game itself seems like it could be a pretty nice adventure game or a randomly generated arcade game. Perhaps as others have suggested, add some combat elements to include some skill in killing the rats.
As it stands though, I think there's a lot of room for additions. Maybe stuff like switches or perhaps ponds that you can't pass until you get a certain item etc.. etc..
