Finding Yourself by Maple
Finding Yourself is a game about finding yourself. "Fancy bumping into you here! It's a small (I mean tiny) world!", you'll say.
It's a platformer. There's 15 levels. Stats are recorded and saved, so you can continue playing later on if you get tired for the time being.
The controls are shown as you play the first few levels, but whatever:
You use the arrow keys, D, and... If it so be, ESC. :(
You can also press F4 to toggle Fullscreen, and F9 saves a screenshot in the location of the game.
Source file is a .gm81 file.
I ended up using Game Maker, SFXR, Pxtone (for one sound), Autotracker-bu for music, MS Paint and Paint.net for Graphics. Funfact: I made the font used in this game (with http://fontstruct.com/) over a year ago with the initial "Finding Yourself" idea in mind. The font can be downloaded here: http://dl.dropbox.com/u/6478756/Misc/shake.ttf
Enjoy, and tell me where I went wrong!

Well done!
-The difficulty curve is very steep
-The character sprite looks... odd, to say the least.
-Some of those keys... maaan... you crazy.
-Purple, gradient background colour?
-No way to toggle the music.
the univers is cool, good game :)
Even without looking at comments I knew most of them would say it is hard.
Really my one criticism right now is that the wall jumping mechanic seems to make the game harder than it needs to be. On screen 2 I frequently found myself ricocheting back to the left on my dash, while grabbing that key, because of the wall hanging, and because once the player wall hangs he cannot change his facing.
I don't really have the wherewithal to keep going with this steep a difficulty curve, but I have to give you credit for making these some ingeniously difficult puzzles.
