An educational game is sure funny for a change, not sure of you can really count it as a game yet though...

I have nothing against edutainment, but this is too much education (for those who don't know / remember basic chemistry) and not much of a game (there's at least one game in compo that uses the same basis, but it's fun to play). It's more a like an interactive test from chemistry.

BTW edutainment that forces player to learn via other sources is bad imo.

It was fun to have my chemistry skills refreshed :)

Nice idea! Too bad it requires pre-existing knowledge to be fully enjoyed.

Nice graphics. Though as others have said, this isn't really much of a game. Perhaps if you had some way to teach with it it would be more useful / enjoyable. "Playing" through this game was essentially looking for formulas on wikipedia.

Certainly unique though.

Hm, I see that there are different chemicals each time, would be nice to see the idea expanded on somewhat.

Maybe try to teach nomenclature somehow? It's fairly regular... Might be pushing it though.

Anyway, as a one time chemist, I was glad to have to use that knowledge even for a few minutes, so I liked your game.

So, am I supposed to know the chemical composition of trioxidane?

the basic idea of plugging stuff together to make things is always cool. i'm not very knowledgeable about chemistry myself, so i felt like i needed a tutorial or wikipedia or easy mode or something. some kind of context as to why i'm putting these chemicals together might've been helpful/fun. it doesn't have to be anything elaborate. it could be like a line of text saying what it's for (i would say the more ridiculous these are, the better).

i thought the graphics were decent enough and have their own charm to them. kinda reminded me of something i'd see on an Apple ][.

So, it's a decent start. I would just focus on putting some fun and interesting bits around it.

It looks like you some plans to add more, since it identified ethanol as well. Would have been good to require the correct structure as well as the atoms.

I'm doing poorly in high school chemistry so this was... not as fun. it was OK though. Interesting concept, not very game-y.

Interesting idea. Would be nice if there was something in there to teach you the molecules before testing. Maybe gradually add new molecules.
