Brevity by thristhart

made by thristhart for LD23 (COMPO)
HTML5/Canvas. Tested fully on Chrome, somewhat in FF. Sound doesn't seem to work in FF, so that's weird.

Not really finished, but good enough! Control your tiny world of bacteria and nanobots.

Well thought-out game.
Works well on FF (though no sound, as stated).
It's fairly challenging and could probably be replayed many times while still being interesting.

Nice concept. You need to think in this game.

Very fun! I love having the different choices for the towers when they're placed. It's a very interesting variant on normal tower defense games.

Very interesting game.
Concept is very good, I really had to think things over during gameplay.
You could add removing wrongly placed towers though.

I like the idea! There seems to be lots of room for expanding upon the concept, and I think it's quite original :)

Nice game, I'm impressed with the level of complexity you managed to achieve in the time frame. A nice take on tower defense games.

I kept losing, but on my third try I managed to build a maze that was unsolvable by the AI so they just sat in spawn and let me pick them off. I had almost lost that round too. http://i.imgur.com/7ePjG.png

It's one of the best tower-defense games I've played, mechanics-wise. It's very, very fun - I've spent just over half hour playing. I've noticed that if one survives the beginning, it's pretty easy later. One bug: when constructing a specific one tile width path from blocks and towers, bacteria keeps getting stuck on the start tile. A pity there's no end condition. Very entertaining game, anyway.

I tried to play without going through the tutorial and it was a real trip. After the tutorial though, I enjoyed it. It was sort of hard to tell when the towers transitioned from one phase of their plan to the next. Also, I didn't realize where the healthbar was until the second game, it's kind of strange that it is on the opposite side of your base. Overall, I liked it. This is the first tower defense game I have ever played, I can see why people go for this kind of thing! Oh, also the music was funny and good. Very nostalgic.

Decent tower defense. I felt that the instructions for the towers made it overly complicated though, and I never felt I had enough money to do anything worthwhile.

My small advice is try to simply the tutorial, it took some time to learn. On other side it's a neat game.

I found it kind of confusing, but I'm not so much used to strategy games. The phase programming was neat though!

A fellow TD maker!

I like the AI choosing element, although the inability to change it after creation is a little arbitrary.

The difficulty, however, doesn't scale very well. I always leaked the first wave or two with no chance of stopping them, and after that it was spawnkilling central.

An interesting mechanic, something the tower defense genre needs more of. If anything I wish it had been a little simpler, more polished.

Congrats!

Played on FF (so no music). Nice take on tower defense.

Played in Chrome, but none of the towers actually did anything even though I gave them all kinds of shoot commands.

Music died after the first wave as well.

Enjoyed it, took me a while to understand how it works though.
