made by umwgmc for LD23 (JAM)
REQUIRES JAVA 5, BUT MAY REQUIRE JAVA 7 FOR SOME PLATFORMS.
You can get it at: http://www.oracle.com/technetwork/java/javase/downloads/index.html

If the loading screen hangs and the window cannot be closed, try downloading Java 1.7.

Updates to come eventually, some bugs, no tutorial.
Press keys 1-8 to change cell selection, click to place.
Amino acids (currency) shown in upper-left corner, costs of cells in green below them in the interface at the bottom.

In order of appearance, friendly cells work like this:

Neutrophils are slow-moving but effective as a buffer.
Macrophages are a little bit weaker, but a lot faster.
Monocytes heal all friendly units around them.
Dendrites generate free amino acids (currency) while they survive!
Basophils have tons of health but don't move or deal damage.
Lymphocytes inspire other cells to attack one target!
Natural Killers explode, dealing damage to everything around!
Killer T Cells fire projectiles at enemies!

Basically, try to keep the animal cells (the orange circles that start on the right) alive by keeping the bacteria, viruses, and parasites that enter from the left away from them. Hopefully, it isn't too difficult and also isn't too easy. Please give us your thoughts, and follow us at oneup.umwblogs.org.

Sorry but I couldn't test it. Was java7 really necessary?

Hung on loading, so downloaded Java 7; worked fine. Love the concept! Great job!

I wanna play this. It looks neat. Tried Java 7 and still won't load. :(

Downloaded Windows version, wouldn't run under Windows 7 (hung on load screen). Maybe Java 7 would fix this, but I'm out of time for now. Looks like it would have been neat, though.

Nice music and some of the best visuals I've seen in a LD game! Seems like it's difficult concept to balance as I was able to get far by just spamming Neutrophil, and later on there were so many things on screen that my frame rate basically froze up, but still pretty amazing for a 48-hour game.

Overall not a bad game, though it would benefit greatly from instructions.

Using launch4j or at least supplying the launcher bat file wouldn't have killed you, ya know :). Also Java 7 was completely unnecessary - was too lazy to install it, sorry - so no play for me till autoupdater pushes it on me. Will rate then.

Aww. I think I've worn out my spam-clicky finger now. Didn't realize the "infinitemode.txt" caption for the last level until I had played for quite a while. :(

Seriously a great game. Without a doubt among the best I've played so far. It is polished and it has great gameplay, even tho the idea is simple enough. The background music is nice as well. Could have used some in-game sound effects as well tho.

Also, it lagged quite a lot when many of these spider-like thingies spawned.

Good variation of the Tower defense. Would be better with a bit of balancing and sounds.

Interesting, but the gameplay is kinda weird.

It'd help if there was an explanation of what each thing did, as well as a set of tutorial type levels. It'd also help if there was some explanation of what the enemies were... I had no idea how to beat them, it just seemed like chance.

The graphics were appropriate, and done well, although I didn't think they looked all that nice; I'm not really a fan on bacteria or body fluid as a graphical theme.

Great music though. :D

Works well for me. I like the game, and the artwork isn't bad either. However - the difficulty is way to easy. Simply spam the clicking and win.
