A Theft of Mass by uberneen
Greetings Planetary Assassin!
Use the WASD keys, Arrows, or Number Pad to maneuver your ship and your mouse to fire your mining laser as you burrow to the core of this unsuspecting planet.
Once it loses the mass of its core it will be tiny indeed, and destined to spiral into fiery oblivion.
Graphics were created with Gimp.
Sounds were created with SFXR and Audacity.
The code was written in nano.
The language and build environment was Flex SDK and make.
I hope you enjoy playing it as much as I enjoyed making it!

Cool idea and executed well.
I'll be playing this again and also showing it to friends as a challenge activity.
Kerbal Space Program meets Terraria? :)
I think the controls could definitely use a little work. On the one hand it should be reasonably difficult, but it also kind of feels like you're flying through mud.
It also might help if I bounce you off a collision or destroy the block instead of letting you sink into it and keep taking damage.
I think impulse needs to be sped up and the collisions should bounce for sure. The ship movement was built to be a lot like a lunar lander game, which is why it's so delicate.
I'll have to play around with the laser. I tried to get a usable distance without having a sqrt in my frame loop and I think sometimes the mouse click lands on the wrong layer. If you click and hold it works reliably.
Didn't finish though... Bought the core device something, but I couldnt find out how to steal the core and in the end burned in it.
Definitely has potential but I couldn't finish it as I crash into the ground after getting a few upgrades and I didn't want to start again.
The docking hit area is larger in the updated version.
However the slow controls take away too much. Especially when you have a deeper pit and try to go down and just can't stop fast enough.
Engine upgrade!
Cool idea. Sound did fit.
I thought about a handful of fancier ways to steal it, but there was no time for implementation.
