T in Y World by Tom 7
Tried something experimental this time. This is a ZZT homage with some twists that I don't want to spoil. It's more clever than it looks, I hope.
Features:
- Very expensive simulated color-ASCII graphics
- Content & technology double-whammy
- False dichotomy
- Four new music tracks, including shamelessly self-referential theme song
- You can turn off the annoying music
- Spoiler 1
- Thrilling Computer Science based gameplay
- Integrated level editor
- Spoiler 2
- Boss battle!!
The only difference between the jam and compo versions is performance; I found out after uploading that the game is quite slow on non-awesome computers. But judge fairly:

I made a timelapse with webcam which I will upload soon.
Love you forever,

I did get quite a bit of lag on the larger levels, too. My machine isn't the greatest spec beast though ;)
Thanks for playing and enjoy! :)
Very innovative.
The title screen song is hilarious. I let it play all the way through before I started the game. Ctrl+M (OSX) didn't work to mute the in-game music which, while pretty good, got repetitive pretty quickly.
I got a little confused and skipped the tutorial levels thinking I'd already been through the tutorial after the introduction. Even going back through the tutorial levels, I never completely figured out the rules notation. I got stuck in the tutorial.
The in-game music got a little overbearing after a while, and ctrl+m didn't seem to work (OSX).
<Jiggawatt> Every weekend I retreat to a closet and stare at different types of T IN Y WORLD.
The audio is great but it gets irritating after a while.
-how awesome this game is
-how awesome my experience was
-how the soundtrack overall is awesome
-how difficult it is to play this game and understand it.
-how amazed I am that, so far, no one complained about how difficult it is to understand how the rules work, considering not all of us are programmers.
I love the concept overall. And even more than the concept, how much content you actually included in the game and how the rules were presented. I think you could have made it easier for everyone to understand the rules through more extensive and friendly tutorials, but I guess it's part of the planned experience to make it all absurdly confusing.
Congratulations and thanks for this inspiring game.
The rest of the game is not at the same level but still great.
You did a nice work : bravo !
Music is awesooome! I just wish there was more to the audio, like having the songs change on their own after a while because the songs are great but they do get old.
I think it needs a cheat-sheet for the rules. I will never remember the difference between ) and (, for instance. Having a way to play levels the community makes is sooooo great. I'd give you +5 community, if that was still a thing :). My only complaint here is that it's very hard to navigate the user-made levels; I kept wandering into the same few rooms and "hallways" and got lots of 404 errors.
5/5 in many of the categories. :D
I have google chrome and the latest flash player...
