ACTION SCIENCE DOG by bburbank
This is a game where you are ACTION SCIENCE DOG. The SCIENTIST has made special science for you that can shrink you to SUBATOMIC WORLD. Once there, you can search for treasure and bring it back to the lab!
For this LD I wanted to purposefully challenge myself and make something really challenging; I've made platformers the last couple times but this time I wanted to do something with random dungeons, random loot, enemy AI, and CHARM. I first set out to build a roguelike but decided to instead build a dungeon crawler where the world only updates as you move (similar to a roguelike, but not bound to tiles). This would be friendly to "deciding what to do next" and would allow for a pretty decent mobile experience.
I ended up with base systems for all of that, and then only had time to implement one enemy and a couple types of loot before I ran out of time. I will definitely continue working on this! In fact I already have it running on my iPhone and iPad and hope to release it before long!
UPDATE: source code released. Has an extra, unused music track (WHICH IS WAY GOOD) and a couple scribbles from my notebook that I made while working on it (THERE IS A DRAWING OF A WALKING BURGER).

I really like the mechanic of non-tile-based movement where the world only updates when you move - never seen that one explored before - interested to see where you go with it.
With that said, I'm not sure what the stuff-collecting was for. I filled up quickly, then never did anything with it.
Graphics and game design are awesome too.
Runs smooth too. This should make a good iOS game.
The gfx were great and the story funny. Bravo :)
Did you know that there is an actual comic book character named Science Dog? http://www.comicvine.com/science-dog/29-42574/
Is there any collars or other items than hats to find ?
Also going down didnt seem to change anything rather than just recreate a similar level.
Very good game base, but not much to do yet.
My game seemed to stop at the Subatomic World 3 screen. Aside from that this was pretty enjoyable! I like the concept and I found 'Science Cheese' to be hilarious. Gameplay could still use a bit of work but was overall pretty well done for the time limit.
