Tiny War by Aidan

[raw]
made by Aidan for LD23 (COMPO)
Tiny War is a shooter-platformer where the world wraps around horizontally. It's my first entry and I'm not entirely pleased with the results, but at least I finished it to some degree.

"The world is tiny and your people suffer from overpopulation and overcrowding. They must build upwards, but there is another world of strange creatures above yours. It must be removed for the good of your people."

Hah! Pretty fun. I wish I had a little more horizontal speed, and also the regenerating health made it a bit too easy. I liked the looping world and how you used gravity. Good entry!

I liked it, the horizontal wrapping made it really hard though. It made it almost impossible to progress with walls of bullets streaming almost constantly.

Fun game, and the wrapping is an interesting mechanic that you executed well. I too enjoyed your use of gravity.

The first time gravity shifted the game mysteriously reset on me. I played it again and managed to get the real ending next time. That was a nifty little mechanic you had in this game!

Cool, nice innovative concept with the gravity, didnt notice for a while, then when the stars started appearing I noticed I was jumping a lot higher!
Those pink things were pretty brutal, and swarmed at times, lots of damage from all directions, but I never seemed to die, so it was a bit easy if anything. Cool game all round though, the gravity and flipped half made it so.

Very very fun, despite the simple graphics. This is what good game design looks like!
