Reshape by Mantlair

[raw]
made by Mantlair for LD35 (COMPO)
Shape the bricks by rotating and painting them. Match the target formation to win on each level.

-- Details About Mechanics --

- If you move to blocked areas(pink-ish ones) you lose. You can undo the last move.
- If you touch to a brick from a connectable side the brick sticks to you.
- Paint cells paints the brick above them. You must match the colors of the target.
- Rotator blocks turns you 90 degrees. You must match the rotation of the target.
- In order to win you must macth the target exactly. Block Type/Color/Rotation, and empty cells must be empty. (I am aware you always get enough bricks to get by. I thought I could make morelevels using that mechanic.)

-- Controls --
Arrow Keys: Move
U: Undo (You can undo only one move at a time.)
R: Restart
Escape: Return to menu

I wanted to make more levels but there was no time left for it B(.
Current levels can only give an idea about how much complex levels can be made with this mechanics. I am happy I ended up doing this game. It fits my skills much more in comparision to the other ideas I had. Anyways have fun!

`Heart` is meant to be the final battle of the game(at least for now). Tell me if you beat it.

Pretty solid puzzles! The game plays a bit like a mixture between Infinifactory and Sokoban. I made it all the way to Croissant, which gave me quite the headache for a while :D

I had to give up on frog though, I'll see if I can solve it later.

Good work!

This is a solid entry. The basic premise is a great idea and the theme is there in a simple but efficient mechanic that integrates with the core game flawlessly. Good work. It's a shame there are no sound effects or music.

Tebrikler. Oyunu 莽ok be臒endim. Kendini geli艧tirmeye devam et, bilgisayar oyunlar谋 kariyer yap谋labilecek bir alan.

That was really tough! Especially the frog was difficult, I still haven't figured it out. I like how you used all kinds of mechanics like paint and rotating to increase the variety in your game. Great job!

It reminds me of https://draknek.itch.io/max-capacitor

I like the idea, you should definetly implement infinite undos and not letting the player do invalid moves, if the movement is invalid just undo the move yourself!

Please consider a fallback hosting solution to itch.io. It takes ages (20 min) to download your game for me. (Generally itch.io is soooo sloooow...)
Also you don't have to include the .pdb files in your archive. These are just debugging symbols.

To the game: Very well done puzzle game, I liked it a lot. I'm still working on the last two puzzles.
As already said, multiple undo steps would be nice. Also there seems to be a bug when docking multiple shapes at once not all are highlighted immediately.

I really like the variety of puzzle elements and how they nicely fit together.

Really nice puzzler! I included it in my video compilation series of Ludum Dare games, if you鈥檇 like to check them out :) https://youtu.be/7kJFcods5hA

Pretty creative idea, executed rather well, too (that frog took a bit of time to figure out). Guess it could benefit from better audiovisuals and more sensible progression mechanics (i.e. once you complete the level, you go to another level, not go back to menu and select another). Oh, also, menu itself could use some keyboard controls; it's an annoyance if the only situation I use mouse for is to navigate menus which easily could be kept, as the rest of the game, to keyboard.

Still, pretty nice entry, especially given the timeframe. Good job. ^^

Great mechanics and puzzles! You're right - our games are similar! In fact, I was thinking of something more like yours when I got started. Really enjoyed solving those levels. Nice work.
