The Last Colony by Wyzfen

[raw]
made by Wyzfen for LD23 (COMPO)
I'm happy with how this turned out - an onslaught style tower-defence game in 12 hours :)

I still need to add more waves, balance it, give them abilities (shields etc) and add more than one tower type.

Made with unity, bfxr and spacescape.

Controls:
Rotate the view with the cursor keys.
Click on a triangle to select it, then click the 'build' button to construct a tower (the button is just below the planet).
There's a limit of 4 towers (I put the limit in at the end as it's too easy - you can beat it with just 1 tower)

Nice take on tower defense! Also, I'm a bit motion-sick now.

Can't play on linux :(

Great concept and it was pretty fun! However, once I got all four towers and upgraded them I just needed to watch until the game ended. It was lacking a bit in features, but I'd love to play it again if you add in more featues.

Tower defense on an...icosahedron? Woo!

Well, the enemies don't attack the planet. But, the turrets work and can be upgraded. That's all good.

I think that if I could have died, I would have very quickly.

Thanks for the comments.
I've got a long list of features still to add (including enemies attacking, more / stronger enemies and towers, and different tower / enemy types).

Not bad, though I agree with Pixelulsar. The game does seem to lack involvement after you've placed all your turrets.

I like the little blasty sound effects!

Agree with some of the things above (need more turrets! and upgrades!) but you've got a very promising start, here.

Great! Love the unique twist on a tower defense game! As a previous poster mentioned, it is a bit easy once you have all the towers, but hey, considering it was done in 12 hours, I'm certainly impressed! Great job!

A better difficulty curve would make a lot of difference -- it just ended without me figuring out how to develop skills.

It's a good start, to be sure.

Nice game, good idea (3d tower defense), fun to play, just lacking music/sound :)

Very nice! Shame it isn't longer! I can imagine given more time you could expand on this lots with different turrets and bigger worlds! :)

Interesting concept; couldn't place more than 4 turrets though, despite getting a lot of resources - would be cool to have to keep upgrading constantly, while the onslaught gets crazier and crazier :) No bugs or anything though, worked good.

I finally got my unity plugin fixed!
Good game, a bit shallow but a solid concept.

It needs more, but it's a pretty good start! The graphics and style are pretty decent.

Short and simple. Not a huge td fan, but I like the 3d element here.

Neat way to do a tower defense, I would have liked to be able to rotate the world to get to some of my turrets on the other side, but that also might be a challenging game mechanic. Good job!

I enjoyed it, would love to see it expanded. I didn't like how the world spun, made it harder to select what I wanted to. The graphics were nice and colorful, great job! :)

Strangely compelling... couldn't figure out how I was gathering resources, but maybe that was just silly me!

It was a bit too hard to figure out the paths for the enemies, but I realized that didn't matter too much since they'd just start orbiting anyhow.

Nice work for 48 hours! This is definitely a good start for something if you're interested in taking it further; I'd just be a bit worried about the motion sickness issues some others have brought up in this case.
