Collect ALL the resources by Vladp995

If you are looking for a game with a real game play this "game" doesn't have it. Right now it's more like a game engine I can build my future game on it, and that's what I'm aiming to do after ludum dare (strategy game perhaps).

So what you can do right now is playing some fixed map and gather enough resources to build the TOWER (my personal challenge to you, it costs 10000 material each). Right click to build facility. Each facility produce something depending on the amount of workers, houses produce more workers (if you know what I mean ;) ).

The rest I'm leaving to you to find by yourself :)

NOTICE: there are problems with loading (on OS X especially) and I don't know why, sorry.

It's pretty hard to know what to do, but good work though.

Challenge accepted! The tower has been completed. The biggest challenge was the framerate dropping off a cliff partway to the 10000 resources-- still a good base for a game. Thanks for submitting!

Saw a green field, right-clicked and got a menu... hit ESC and got a crash screen with a red exclamation point overlaid on a coffee cup. Going to try again...

Couldn't get past the menu screen, tried clicking every thing. Sorry!

Ok, I could select something in the main menu the third time.

It did flicker a lot after that. I didn't really stick with it for very long because it was hard to use the interface with it flickering so much.

What was cool was my little people were running around, presumably doing cool things. And I could see that I could select houses and see how many people lived inside.

Like you said, this looks like a good engine for future work.

Unfortunately there is a large amount of flickering on my mac, on Chrome, Safari and Firefox. This is to do with the way macs run java, so it's not really your fault, although I do know there are ways to get around it, as some java applets run fine.

One thing would be not to clear the graphics each frame, but instead draw over what's already there. That would fix it a bit (although not completely)

You said it: it's more an engine for your future games than a game itself. It flickers much on my macosx and there were not much to do. Good work still for making this in 48hours.

So I got the tower. YAY!... now what?
hehe JK. Very nice demo. Would be very interested in seeing what you build with this.

On OSX, flickers like crazy and it has no real idea where my mouse is. It was hard to play much more past the first couple housing units.

I could see this working as the foundation of some future game, assuming the source is nice and pretty. As game it's obviously got issues, but as an engine I'd say enemy number one is performance - FPS dropped to ~15 by the time I had enough resources to buy the tower.

I did like the 3D though, and watching tiny people toil their lives away is always fun. :) 'grats!

Took me a minute to figure out you need to click on "Collect", then on the logging camp, then right click on a forrest square on the map. Keep at it, I'd like to see more of this...

A bit hard to know what to do. The 3D elements look interesting for the perspective.
