I was a little disappointed I couldn't "make door dennis" but it's an interesting concept for a game. I think a small placeholder world to start out in to explore would have helped a lot as far as the interest level, though.

I really like this entry. It's unique and makes a bit of a statement.

Aaargh, blank slate syndrome! Give me a few bits in the world to start with and I'd be much more comfortable creating from there.

Initially we could add doors to anywhere (including "Dennis"), but then the program can't use the grid to figure out what else is connected to that spot, so the feature didn't make it in time. But I love the imagination that lies behind a door that goes to "dennis"!

I love this! Such a clever, simple idea, and so awesome. I wish there were a few more things I could do with creation - like making doors or objects require some other object to be able to go through them/take them. With that addition I would be able to build some actual puzzles. Still, nice creative idea!

I like how it is possible for me to create a situation where I move north and then south and i am in a different room than I started :P

Very interesting. I like this. I may have to play with it sometime again. It'd be nice if you could make interactive objects maybe. Like doors that require keys. It'd be even cooler if you could save it somehow like maybe give you some text storing the game data. Either way it was cool. I'd like to see the post-compo version of this. Good job.

Interesting idea, the world feel a little empty at the start, but with enough imagination, the concept can take you anywhere :) You could definitely expand on it to make something cool. I got a bug when trying to make an object with a space in the name, it only recognize the first word when using the command "look at".

This concept would be very interesting if you can inject dynamics and interactions, like making a key work on a certain locked door etc. Maybe link it together with multiplayer so we create the same world?

Hehe, I agree with Sestren about the door to DENNIS (http://www.homestarrunner.com/dungeonman.html). I also noticed that giving a name with a space in it ruined the pattern matching when trying to look for an object (say with the name "ye flask").

It was pretty entertaining though, great work!

Thank you everyone for all the good advice and encouragement! I made an updated version of the game (it doesn't incorporate all the feedback yet, I don't have much time - but it has some!). Interesting start to something. Biggest feature this could do with is sharing your world for someone else to explore once you've created it.
