Stretch-Mark! by clement

[raw]
made by clement for LD35 (JAM)
"Stretch-Mark!" is a short puzzle-platformer in which you must use fast (and probably not very healthy) adjustments to your body's size and mass to figure out how to get through. Shrink down small to reduce your mass and run fast, grow tall to jump higher, and grow large to throw your weight around!

Game made with Unity 5
Graphics made with Piskel (and a smidge of Photoshop)
Music and SFX made with PulseBoy

Neat game, I love the music at the aesthetics. The mechanics are also very interesting. Some more check points would be useful to make it easier to experiment with the shrink/stretch without having to start the level over.

The controls are a bit iffy (e.g. the jump height is inconsistent between tallest, middle and tiny and the "slide" after releasing the run key is too long in my opinion), but gameplay and graphics are quite fun.

I had a bit of trouble playing this on my test box, movement seemed slow, are you using delta time in your movements? regardless, I liked what you were going for and those game boy graphics drew me into wanting play this.

Your game has been rated by our team member Antonin Charvat (music composer). Here is his comment: Too bad there is no autosave, I really hate when I need to repeat same part of game ten times :) Great game anyway.

Gotta love the gameboy-esque graphic style :). The stretching/mass manip mechanic is really nice and interesting too! :P

The level design, thanks to the mechanic, is quite challenging, but I'm missing some checkpoints, so I won't have to start all over again.

Soundtrack is also another good point of the game, and controls are just right! ;)

Congrats on this entry! :D
