EvolutionWar by Spouwny
So here is my entry!
It is a strategy game, where you don't control your units.
You can make workers who will gather ressources and attackers who will get directly to the enemy base.
The main point is that you can tweak their genome.
This is done with the three columns to the right.
The right most column represents your current genome.
The left column represents the pool from which you can pick modificators you want.
The result is represented at the middle.
The pool appears progressively and you can make any change you want before it is reset.
When it disapears, you pass a generation and the new units you will build will use the new genome.
It may be a little confusing... so just give it a try... or two...
Some details:
- workers will die after a time equivalent to a generation.
- when generation increases, workers will have more difficulties to gather ressources
- when generation increases, modificators gets more powerful.
that's all i can think of right now! Have fun!
Updates:
- IA tries to defend itself
- Attackers can be spawned only after a while
- Units in the build queue can be cancelled
- WorkSpeed reworked a little
- Added the sources!

While the game feels a bit confusing at first indeed, the idea of setting genome parts to tweak the units strength is very cool. The only downside is the balance of the game: usually the first player to send some attackers will win the round, so it doesn't leave much time to strategy.
Once you understand how the interface works, the game is pretty simple to play. And despite this simplicity the player is faced with tough decisions, has to choose between multiples strategies and can also change his strategy on the fly!
Even if I disagree with "the first player to send some attackers will win the round", I must admit the game could use some balancing.
I guess this kind of game must be a pain to balance :)
Good job!
What I didn't notice at first was the more positive traits you at the more a unit costs and I ran out of money and then the workers died and I was stuck. The game is very quick, though if you want to build up your workers make sure you have enough spare money to send a wave or two or fighters to stop incoming waves or you will lose very quickly.
The game is a fun little death match, though I'm not sure if the game lasts long enough for you to modify your units too much. What would be cool if you could write a 2-player version.
Its a shame you don't have much in the way of graphics, audio or humour so I can't rate those categories more than 1, but the game rates well in all the other areas.
One fix I'd like would be able to remove units from the queue.
Excellent entry!
