Bio Hierarchy by berareu
Here's my entry for the Jam, Bio Hierarchy!
It's nothing much, a simple topdown shooter game made with Game Maker.
You control a little creature named Sid that will have to evolve to prevail against Gurl!
Remember, try to survive and DODGE DODGE DODGE!

P.S. Sei italiano! Anch'io :-)
- There is no necessary to fight ne monsters
- You can easily avoid them and use the dodging to sprint through the level to collect the gems
- More enemies at all to make it more difficult to get the gems.
- There should be a save point before the bossfight begins.
I hope you keep up the work and make a post-compo-version :)
Nice music too.
I played Meteor Night on AGBIC too ;)
I agree with the repetitive part, you should maybe give first 2 functions (dodge and fire) for a bit later to make player see the progress.
I don't think it's clear, but in the game there is only one enemy (Gurl) that is the natural predator of the protagonist (named Sid) and both evolve at the same time. The whole point is to evolve in order to survive :)
I rushed to get this out in time for the deadline as I was freaking out saying "I'm not gonna make it, I'm not gonna make it!!!" Anyway I'm satisfied with it :)
I think I'll really make a post compo version, maybe a much bigger and polished game :)
I also really liked the graphics, reminded me of some of the Nintendo DS games that I have played in the past.
Good effort!
Graphics are good :)
I would try it if you had a web version.
