Evolve and Build to be Able to Code by cardboard
Unzip and run EaBtbAtC.exe to play
The lever level is the end of the game. There was supposed to be a puzzle implemented to utilize them, but it never happened.
--------------------------
WASD to move
Enter/Return to interact
--------------------------
Basically, as you progress through the 3 "ages" of the game, the player and graphics evolve (or at least they should) until the player has the tools needed to program. If you can't figure out the gameplay, you basically just move over objects and press "enter" to interact with them.
I'll put some info here because I don't think it comes across in the game
Age 1: You have nothing; you need to create some tools
Age 2: You have tools and buildings; you need a form of writing
Age 3: You have a writing system; have fun coding!
There were a lot more ages to fill the gaps, but this is the Ludum Dare, so it didn't happen.
I am happy that I successfully(?) entered and completed my first Ludum Dare.
--------------------------
I highly recommend you do not look at the source; it is pretty ugly.

- Music was fun
- I liked the constant presence of the info bar
- Wish there was more action-based sounds -- IE if i hit enter on something that didn't do anything, it would give me a sound to represent that
- I kinda got lost on what I was supposed to do between the 2nd and 3rd levels and ended up just kinda exploring and hitting enter on a bunch of stuff until I found things that gave me stuff.
- Not sure if just getting to the last level was the end or not, couldn't figure it out if it wasn't.
Overall, great effort!
Thanks for the feedback and for taking the time to play my game :)
I liked the music.
It was a bit short, though, which is understandable.
I must say your art confused me, sometimes it looked intentionally simply some other times it looked clumsy.
