Abstract Legends by DragonDrumstick
Attempted to simplify a complex game like DotA or LoL as much as possible while still retaining some resemblance. Stripped out a whole bunch of features, and tried to keep the most basic elements.
The result was a single, 6-cell lane with 2 heroes fighting to take down each other's thrones in a turn based fashion.
Please take it for a spin. You can level up/evolve different parts of your body - hands will increase your damage, eyes will increase your attack range, body increases your toughness and HP regen, brains will increase your mana regen, and evolving your feet will increase your dodge chance.
It's in PHP (yeah... I know. I'm so sorry). I've uploaded a copy here for testing:

Conclusion:
It was a really interesting exercise. I still think the resulting 'simplified' version is still too complex.
Also, building in the rules and the mechanics is one thing. Tweaking the simplified form till it becomes fun as well is another thing altogether. I wish I had more time to do that.
Still, I had a great time rushing through my first Ludum Dare compo! Thanks for organizing this! :)
