I started this in Game Maker because I had worked in it before so I figured it'd be easy to get right into things. Unfortunately, it took me longer than I expected, and I also spent far too much time fiddling with little animation bits. There's some glitchy bits with movement but otherwise I'm happy with it (engine-wise, that is).

tl;dr I spent too much time fiddling with little polish and I ended up not having time to make more levels

Story is that these aliens (blugs, cause they're blue and look like slugs to me) are dying out and need to repopulate, so they flew off to another planet to harvest its resources. As soon as they've got enough nutrients, they asexually reproduce and the first one gets transported back to the spaceship. The planet's interesting new plants can force genetic mutations in the blugs that give them new abilities, so the blugs have decided to take evolution into their own hands and use its' power to get even more nutrients and expand the blug empire.

Controls:
Movement - Left + Right keys
Jumping - Up key
Attack - Z key (not gameplay-useful, only in test room)
Fullscreen - F4
Quit - ESC
