made by pjchardt for LD24 (COMPO)
I used Unity 3.5 free edition. Code written in C#. For
audio I used audacity, recording myself with my mic. For images I used Gimp and Photoshop, cuz I only have Gimp on the laptop. I used Maya for the star and moon models in the game. I think that is pretty much it.

I used code from a couple examples on the unity forums, I have the links in the source where I used it. The code was how to do a fade with the GUI, and a basic example on jumping. This is my first compo entry, so I believe it is okay to use code from forums. If not let me know :)

Awesome. I loved everything about this. It was so unique and incorporated the theme so well. I really wish you didn't use the default unity text though. Great work!

Thanks. I wanted to use a new text, cuz there is no z testing with the font I was using. But I did not have enough time :(. I made a few textures for some of the text, but for the rest it is the default Unity text...

Very nice! Innovative, and great incorporation of the theme. I hope to see it taken farther.

A nicely executed platformer with an unique twist.

I like the game mechanic but the platforming is too floaty imo. Very nice, though.

Left/right controls were a bit like moving on ice, but great idea and unique shape changing feature with a suprising amount of levels!

That was cool, great idea about mutating the mechanics of the player and having it react to their gameplay. If you had more time or kept working on this, you have the potential to create a very interesting and thoughtful platformer.

However, I felt that the sound effects did not compliment the art style or music.

Nice job on the music.

really cool concept there! it could be really awesome with just a bit more control tweaking, i feel like. but I like the direction this is heading! well done!

thanks everyone for the feedback, I agree the controls could definitely use some tweaking. With the rules of the compo, can I submit a new version with some tweaks? Or should I keep updated versions off of the compo. feel free to chime in :)

This definitely needs tighter controls, like everyone said; besides that, it was a very interesting game, with a really cool use of the theme. Good job!

The basic game mechanic is cool, reminded me of Gish somehow. I agree the controls can be improved. Some variety would help too, overall solid entry! - You shouldn't update your compo entry, that should be left untouched, but you can add a link to a post compo version with improvements.

Thanks nuria. I will make a post compo version but leave my entry untouched.

I really have to return the favor, but your game is the most fun I've played so far, which has involved me XD

This is a really, really interesting idea and I think given the time frame it's super well made. If you were to make this into a bigger project, I'd probably like to have more control over the shape and movement and stuff, but it's a really cool idea that's been executed pretty well. Nice job.

Inertia and jump height sometimes go crazy but hey, what a cool idea !

There was something really great, which I really liked. It was the concept and how player was told what to do in the beginning, at that point I was pretty excited about the game. Also level design was pretty interesting.

Interesting. Making my character evolve according to what I was doing is a different take on the theme. The first level should have more spacing between the teaching of concepts, while I did pick it up fast, others might not. Nice.

Kind of a quirky artsy game - is it more of a sandbox type game?

@eyehawk no it is linear, there is an end to each level. As for the artsy theme, I guess I can't get away from it... I went to school for Fine Arts after all.

@everyone as I have commented before I appreciate all the feedback, it is a great way to see how others experience the game

Nice work. I really enjoyed the concept, mood and simple graphics. I played all the way to level 8 but got stuck in the geometry and had to quit. Music was nice but you could have done without the plucking parts which were very grating. Very nice game overall!

Nice, simple idea - the ones like these work best. You need nothing more than the cube to make this game work. Great stuff!

Great atmosphere, and a smart idea for a platform puzzler. I like the simple scrolling parallax "2.5D" effect. I found riding the platform tricky due to constant tiny collisions ... you might want to use one of the common methods to prevent that (tweak Unity's physics settings, or make the platform+player behave as a single object when standing on the platform).

Nice, I thought of doing something quite similar, I like how you balanced speed/jump height/strength, good job.

I agree that the controls could be tighter. Also I had a hard time getting over the platforms in level 3 because it was really hard to land (and stay) on them. Other than that, I really liked the idea and the simplicity of your implementation! Was really fun to play. Good job!

Thanks everyone for the feedback. I have not been as active as the first week or so due to the whole work thing...Because of the feedback I have reworked the physics and made some other changes. Now just waiting for voting to end to update the game.
